Kathrin Rhomberg, curator of 6th berlin biennial, and Vít Havránek, co-curator of Manifesta 8, are invited to give a first insight into their plans for this year's upcoming major art events. They will present their approaches for the respective location and discuss on what distinguishes a biennial in the remote Spanish region of Murcia from a biennial in the German capital Berlin. Likewise, we will pursue the question to what extent biennials are still the places for major social and political themes and how to address the local audience as a guest-curator.

Positions – Visions is a cooperation of the Society for Modern Art at Museum Ludwig, Cologne and the Kölnischer Kunstverein as well as part of the lecture series Art in context of the Society for Modern Art.
