Studio Program

Studio at the Chocolate Museum, Cologne

In cooperation with the culture foundation of RheinEnergie and the Imhoff Stiftung the Kölnischer Kunstverein has launched the program Antenne Köln. Through this cooperation, ten working spaces for young artists from Cologne have been provided on the upper floor of the Brücke and ten more studio places were built in the Cologne chocolate museum. Apart from their studio work, the stipendiaries are given the possibility to make their work known to a broader audience via presentations, concerts and readings. January-June 2010
Since 2008 the Kunststiftung NRW (Art Foundation of North Rhine Westfalia) is supporting an international exchange and realising a six-monathly residence in Istanbul, Tel Aviv and Mumbai for artists from North Rhine-Westfalia. As a countermove, international artists is given the opportunity to reside in North Rhine-Westfalia. The grant's objective is to get to know the art world and it's development at the face of the respective place, to make and accentuate contacts, to exchange ideas and to give new impulses to the art world at home after returning. Being a partner to the Kunststiftung NRW, the Kölnischer Kunstverein is since this year providing its apartment for artists to the scholarship holders. The first one residing at the Kölnischer Kunstverein is the indian artist Shruti Mahajan from Mumbai who will stay in Cologne until June 2010.
